Especially for those in their 20's

My degree in History trained me to search the past for lessons on how to handle the future, thus, my fascination with war and politics. So when November rolls around, I'm glued to Rembrance Day tributes in the paper (rather than Sunday football on the tube.) I spend as much timing studying the sepia photo insets as I do reading the stories of danger and courage. TContinue

Ivanka tell you something.

Who just got married, turned 28 and published her first book? That's right, Ivanka Trump. The daughter with better hair than Mr. Apprentice himself has pumped out selective insights on her priveleged life and some tips as well. It's a catchy title, albeit a little trite: The Trump Card: Playing to Win in Work and Life. She isn't the first to dole out advice like this, but given WHO she is, maybe… Continue

JayZ & Time Management

Job hunting and career management benefit a lot from good time management. When you're at capacity, it's about delegating and juggling. On that note, I was inspired by what JayZ did last week. He didn't - he kept both commitments and made it work.… Continue

Have you heard of Jeremy Gutsche? The story of his business start-up is inspirational and I have to tell you about it (and not just because I'm stalling on my HR course homework - really). He is the founder of Toronto-based website Trendhunter.com, a portal dedicated to identifying the latest big thing. Why care? Read on...

"Gutsche initially envisioned Trendhunter as a virtual community to discuss business ventures. That way, he hoped to find one for himself. He eventually realized the site… Continue

What are you doing in 2012?

I saw the President on 60 Minutes last night (I'm not American, but I love American politics), and he was talking about big plans for healthcare changes. He won the election almost a year ago (this Novemeber) and I was figuring that for the next three years, he probably has goals, projects and appointments well mapped out (perhaps not a totally full calendar, but almost.) Maybe the rest of us non-Presidential types aren't quite that in demand. Yet I bet at times you're just as busy and sometimes… Continue
