So what's so special about targeted search engines? Well for one, they help you focus on positions that are likely to match your experience (and, therefore, you should get a higher hit rate). Although not always the rule of thumb, they tend to be part of the "road less traveled" (which means that less people are looking at these sites). Probably most important is that they provide a different view which should help you re-focus your search.
- TruckinJobs - "America moves because of you!" is the tag line for this search site which focuses on, you guessed it, trucking jobs. Tabs at the top include "Sleep Safe Strap" (for women in trucking), "Lease a Truck", "Lady Drivers", "Diesel Techs" and "Team Jobs". Below the tabs are featured companies. Click the tab of your choice for the next step in the process.
- JobsInLogistics - This site focuses in jobs related to supply chain, Transportation, Freight Forwarding and more. At the top of the page (center) is a link for job seekers, where you can search for jobs, register or sign-up for job alerts. Below this link is a link for Job Search. This is followed by featured companies and then a listing of companies that have posted jobs on the site (which, by the way, is an excellent resource if you are looking for names of companies). Clicking Job Search links to a very comprehensive job search engine. A basic search returned over 2,200 jobs.
- CoachingJobs - There are job search sites for everything, and this site focuses on coaching jobs (sounds neat to me). Top of the page is a link for "Coach sign up" where you can register (a similar link is on the bottom left hand side of the page). Only bad news is that this is a paysite (and you know what I think of those).
- Cool Jobs - Okay, so this is technically not a targeted search site, but it does focus on several job types, like Resort Jobs and Call Center jobs. The site lists a couple of pre-set searches in the middle of the screen or you can use the simple search at the bottom of the screen. Click on any of these to revel a page of additional resources.
- TeacherJobs - Yes, even teachers can look for jobs. The page has one tab for job seekers at the top of the page followed by a simple search engine (location, category and keyword). You can post your resume or begin looking immediately. While you can't do a generic search, it does look like there are several hundred job opportunities on the site.
Good luck in your search.
